  Become obsessed/ preoccupied (鬼迷心窍) with it—lose focus—lose trust—cost you many really important things in life—family and friends—get into trouble/ accident—endanger your own life—addicted to it—your life go downhill

  Q: Why do you think people need to have an interest or hobby?

  Relax—entertain—meet people—social animal

  Q: In your country, how much time do people spend on work and how much time on leisure? Is this a good balance, do you think?

  40 hours work/ week 2-day weekend

  long breaks / golden holidays 3, 6, 7 days off

  it’s a pretty good balance, I think.

  Q: Would you say the amount of free time has changed much in the last fifty years?

  I don’t remember exactly when it happened, but around 10 years ago, the one-day weekend became 2-day weekend. That was double the time.

  This long paid vacation—more people—go out to nature—travel—vacation—really enjoy life.

  Q: Do you think people will have more or less free time in the future? Why?

  Production efficiency/ productivity improves fewer people needed to do more work
