  I would like to talk about a friend of mine whose name is Wang Jiang. Wang and I have been intimate friends since our childhood. He’s now an electrical engineer serving for the Xiaomi Company in Wuhan.

  I knew him because his family was living next door in our apartment building, and we often played together when both of our parents were busy working. I remember there was a time at his apartment, this article is from Laokaoya website, I saw him building some unique devices and contraptions to perform simple tasks. For instance, there’s a mini-fan controlled by a remote controller created by himself. It worked perfectly in the summer. You know, this was long before smart-devices became popular for home automation. Honestly, I thought it was no big deal at that time, but looking at our lives nowadays, it seems that our lives couldn’t become easier without those useful smart devices.

  Well, I think the reason why his ideas are interesting is that those ideas are unique and indeed constructive. You know, those designs might not be implemented completely in our society, but they truly have a great impact on our peers. Many of our friends got inspiration from him and have gone on an engineering path in their career.
