Shown in the chart is how electrical energy is used for seven purposes in an average Australian household, and the table shows the consumption of electricity in homes of different numbers of people.
* 疑问词(what、which、how、where、when)引导的名词性从句。
* 由of加名词构成的修饰语(同等于形容词)。
Evidently, the energy used for heating and cooling accounts for the largest portion (approx. 40%). Next comes water hearting, whose energy consumption accounts for a quarter. Third, power storage, cooking, lighting, as well as refrigeration are minor energy users. Their proportions range from 3% to 7%, and the combined portion is only roughly one-fifth. In addition, the rest 16% of the household’s energy use goes to all other miscellaneous appliances.

In terms of the amount of electricity used in Australian homes, when a household has no more than three people, the amount ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 kWh, and when there are 6 people or more, the household uses 12,000 to 16,000 kWh. In addition, it is worth noting that it is more economical when the number of household members increases.

Overall, those energy users are vastly different in their usage of electricity, and households of different sizes also vary in their use of electricity.
