  谈话话题：关于公共图书馆的论文

  1、“Yes, but remember we're only supposed to write a short paper, so it's probably best if we don't gointefimdinginanydetaiL (是的，但别忘了我们只需要写一篇短论文，所以我们最好别写太多关于资金方面的细节。)”其中be supposed to do意为“应该做某事”;go into 意为“研究，探究”。

  2、“But the digitalised books thai are available online free are mostly out of copyright, aren't they? And copyright in this country lasts for 70 years after the author dies. So you won’t find tbe latest best-seller or up-to-date information.(但是绝大部分网上免费提供的电子书都是版权失效的书，不是吗?在这个国家一个作者对其作品的版权会在他死后70年才失效，所以你在电子书库里找不到最新的一些畅销书或者最新信息。r其中out of copyright 是指作者死后70年.他对这本书的版权失效,所以图书馆就可以提供该书的免费电子版给读者。

  3、“I'd like to think so, and that they'll still be serving their traditional ftmcdon，but I’m not so sure.There are financial implications, after all.(我想应该是这样，图书馆在未来还是会履行它们传统的功能，但我也不确定，毕竟这涉及财务经费问题。)”,其中sereve...function 意为“提供……的功能”：financil implications意为“所涉经费问题题“。

  4、"I quite ftincy finding out whai the differences are between a library that's open to the public and one that’s part of a museum.(我很想知逬面对公众开放的阁书馆和博物馆内部图书馆有一些什么区别。)”这个句子要想理解好，关键是提取出句子的主干differences between A and B，其中 A 为 library that’s open to the public, B 为 one that’spart。

  听前预测：定位词libraries、in the future;提示词Stewart。注意这道题目与前两题不同，只考查男生Stewart的观点，女生观点是什么并不重要。

  题目解析：信号词in the next few years对应题干in the future，然后应该重点听男生的观点。Stewart先是提到了A选项(still serving their traditional function对应maintain)，但是他又说“but I'm not sure”,因此A不能选。之后提到的“What I'm afraid will happen is that books and magazines will all disappear”对应C选项“no longer contain any books”,因此C为正确答案。

  本题为句子填空题，注意字数限制为1个单词。此外，这7个题目虽然不是完整的句子，但是每个题目都是一个独立的观点，也就是一个Possible question，所以请注意题目与题目之间的逻辑连词。

  Question 24 答案 budget

  听前预测：定位词own;提示词whether,此处应填单数名问。

  题目解析：文中出现的 all sorts of issues、make a list of possible things对应题干Posslble questions，紧接着出现的for instance为第一题的信号词，后面的“and find out whether the library has its own budget” 可以判断答案为 budget。

  听前预测：定位词law;提示词affect、all aspects，此处应填名词。

  题目解析：首先“an...policy...noise”等词在说24题与25题之间的信息，不用重点听，然后出现了逻辑过渡词then (且此词为重读，请注意听音频)，然后出现了答案对应信息“Then there are things like how the library is affected by employment laws. I suppose there are rules about working hours, facilities for staff and so on.”其中 rules about…and so on对应题干提示词all aspects。原文讲的是图书馆受就业法的影响，题干说的是图书馆受就业相关法律的影响，其实是一个意思，因此答案为employment。

  听那预测：定位词design、customer;提示词how、take into account、the，此处应填抽象名词。

  题目解析：再次出现逻辑信号词then，紧接着出现了定位词design和customer，然后出现了答案对应信息“Like what measures does the library take to ensure their safety”,其中 what measures the library take对应题干how, ensure对应take into account,因此荅案为safety。

  听前预测：定位词require.提示词what、accidents，此处应填名词

  题目解析：先出现逻辑过渡词“0h，and another thing，然后出现答案对应信息“there's the question of the kind of insurance the library needs to have, in case anyone gets injured”，其中the kind of对应题干 what，needs to have 对应 required，get injured对应accidents，因此答案为 insurance。

  听前预测：定位词a famous person;提示词's，此处应填名词，且应该是某个名人的某个物件，为实义名词。

  题目解析：先抓到逻辑过渡词“You know something I've often wondered?”引出下一个问题。紧接着出现了答案对应信息“next to it they've got the diary of a well-known politician”，其中 well-known politician 对应题干 famous person，diary of sb.和 sb's diary为同义替换，因此答案为diary。

  听前预测：定位词提示词whether、has、a，此处应填单数名词。

  题目解析：先听到逻辑过渡词“0h，I've just thought”，然后出现定位词local organisations,紧接着答案对应信息 “I wonder if they keep a database，or whether they just look online”出现，其中I wonder对应题千whether，keep对应has,因此答案为 database。
