  高分范文及解析

  Introduction

While some argue that the authority should prohibit its citizens from partaking the sports that may render them severely injured, I entertain the view that people ought to have the freedom to decide what kind of sports they can opt for when the danger of such sports can actually be manageable.

  Body 1

It is justifiable for some to oppose dangerous activities like extreme sports. This is mainly because such sports challenge people’s physiological limits, with great safety risks underlying. Once accidents pop up, partakers will be under threat of injury or even death. In other words, dangerous sports are more likely to injure athletes than common sports, as they require extreme demands for strength, resilience, and adaptability to the risky environment. For instance, rock-climbers are prone to fatal falls, while runners may merely sprain their ankles. Considering the danger of such activities, the government should take actions to prevent its citizens from putting their lives at risk. // However, such detriments can actually be minimized. As participants undergo professional training and take full precautions, the risks have been reduced to extremely low.

 Body 2

However, such an injunction is highly likely to be a nanny-state regulation, as it develops into excessive governing and thus violates people’s liberty. As a matter of fact, most adult citizens are aware of what they are doing as well as of the consequences of participating in such dangerous activities. They may appreciate the good intent behind this ban but get annoyed by the excessive interference. As there are diverse talents and hobbies for each person in the sports, the preference of different groups should be respected. Additionally, such activities can inspire unlimited potential and explosive power, hone people’s will, and allow participants to constantly break through themselves. Risktakers ought to have the freedom to enjoy the sense of exhilaration and fulfilment.
