新航道托福《金牌教程》是入门托福写作的“良品”
我们以书中的一个题目为例，(通过主体部分的一个段落)快速学会一些举例论证的招式。
Some people choose to save money, and others prefer to spend money.
Which way of doing with money do you prefer?
【我们以“我要花钱，我不存钱”这个立场为例, 看两个例子】
例子中，需要描述到具体的存钱的行为，以及带来的具体的“恶果”。通过描述具体的“恶果”，给人“画面感”，从而说服读者不要存钱。
A typical example is my brother, who always makes savings and barely spends his money. Instead of traveling by car, he, not an environmentalist, commutes by public transportation, whose cost is obviously lower than driving or taking a cab. ← 具体的存钱的行为，以及带来的具体的“恶果” → The stuffed metro train obviously offers no comfort but smell and congestion. In addition, since he always saves money, he seldom updates his wardrobe, ← 具体的存钱的行为，以及带来的具体的“恶果” → and wearing old clothes makes him look outdated and poor.
接下来的例子中，同样需要描述到具体的花钱的行为，以及带来的具体的“愉悦”，通过描述具体的“愉悦”，给人“画面感”，从而说服读者要花钱。
I am the contrary. My expense of money is rather generous. ← 具体的花钱的行为，以及带来的具体的“愉悦” → For example, I like to follow the latest fashion trend and purchase new clothing, and I find the spending worthwhile. When I show up with glamour in front of people, I often receive welcome and compliments. Surprisingly, my glamourous appearance, because of my generosity in spending, also brings good fortune. 更有“画面感”的画面又来了 → There was such an instance. Last year, my interview to join a sorority was successful, because I was well-dressed and the outfit impressed the interviewers. If I were a stingy / parsimonious person, I would not have chosen the outfit, which was costly, and probably would not have been accepted.
今日学习总结：
成功的举例论证的关键在于“画面感”。如果读者读到我们的例子的时候，脑子中可以立刻形成画面，我们的例子就很成功。
